Our Mission Statement
We are an independent local charity serving the community living and working in the Ancient Parish of Enfield. We support individuals, families and organisations in financial need with dignity and respect.
We have been able to continue our work for more than 500 years thanks to the generous gifts of Enfield benefactors and the granting of a Royal Charter giving us the right to run Enfield Market.
How we help
On Thursday 28th January, the team headed up to Birmingham for the market industry One Day Conference: Creating and Sustaining Successful Markets to get some ideas to take home and hear the results of The Great British Market Awards organised by The National Association of British Market Authorities.
It was with great delight we were able to go up to receive the award for Best Large Community Market from the Minister for High Streets and Markets, Marcus Jones. We are very grateful to our traders and customers who make Enfield Market what it is. The market is a vital constituent of our work here at Trust in Enfield, with pitch fees assisting towards around £250K in grants being awarded each year that help local people meet the costs of household items, medical bills and equipment, education and training, as well as community grants. The Great British Market Award is a wonderful recognition for the regenration work we worked so hard to carry out in 2015.
Grants & Donations
Apply for a grant
Should you find yourself facing financial difficulties and some unexpected expenses or needing help with education and training, you can apply for one of our Personal or Education Grants. We also have Community Grants for local groups and charities that have a great idea that will benefit the people of the Ancient Parish.
Each year, thanks to the generous gifts of Enfield benefactors, The Old Enfield Charitable Trust administers around £250K in grants to those working and residing in the boundary of The Ancient Parish of Enfield….but we could always do more. Help us to help others as a regular giver, by leaving a legacy or through corporate giving.
Grant Eligibility Checker
To find out whether you are eligible for one of our personal, education or community grants, please consult our Grant Eligibility Checker. This enables you to see if your address is within the parish, and therefore whether you are eligible for a grant.
